Klaus Dembowsky, M.D., Ph.D.
Klaus Dembowsky, M.D., Ph.D. is Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Polyphor. After ten years of academic research, Dr. Dembowsky focused his career on drug discovery and drug development at different pharmaceutical companies and has experience in both big pharma (Bayer) and small biotech companies. His work in therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular system, pain, inflammation and autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders and erectile dysfunction was substantial to bring 15 drug candidates into clinical development and one on the market. Before joining Polyphor Ltd he held the position of Managing Director at Speedel Experimenta, Basel/Allschwil, Switzerland. Dr. Klaus Dembowsky earned his M.D. at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he was awarded a Ph.D. in 1982 and habilitated in physiology in 1987.
